About ABDA
The Atlanta Black Deaf Advocates, Inc. (ABDA) was founded in October
1984 by Deaf leaders in the community.
Now 22 years later, the 5th chapter of 30 National Black Deaf Advocates
chapters, continues to serve as an important force for the deaf and hard
of hearing of color in the Metro Atlanta and the surrounding counties.
Membership includes black deaf, hard of hearing, hearing and professional
adults.
ABDA, Inc. was formed with the purpose of advocating social,
health, and civil right issues for black individuals within the d/Deaf
community.
Empowerment and overall well-being are paramount to the
success of the black d/Deaf community and ABDA strives to achieve these
goals.
